Two fishermen are feared dead after the chemical tanker Solis collided with the fishing trawler St. Joseph in the Arabian Sea.
As reported, the incident took place on 8 March while the trawler was anchored about 120 nautical miles off the coast of Kerala, India.
At around noon, the tanker Solis struck the fishing vessel, causing the ship to sustain severe damage and sink within minutes. Two crew members from the trawler remain missing and are presumed dead, while the other nine were rescued by the tanker’s crew.
The Indian Coast Guard vessel ICGS Anagh arrived shortly afterward and transported the survivors to Vizhinjam Port.

Search operations for the missing fishermen are ongoing and the Indian Directorate General of Shipping has launched an investigation into the collision.
